Aseptic Compounding Pharmacy Technician (Sterile)

Reports To: Pharmacist in Charge
Role Overview
The Aseptic Compounding Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in preparing sterile medications in a controlled cleanroom environment.
This position requires strict adherence to USP <797> standards, precision in compounding, and a strong commitment to patient safety, quality, and compliance.

What You’ll Do
Prepare Sterile Compounded Medications
Accurately compound sterile medications following established formulas and aseptic technique
Perform proper gowning, gloving, and cleanroom procedures
Label, package, and document all compounded products
Ensure Compliance & Quality
Follow USP <797>, HIPAA, and all internal SOPs
Maintain accurate compounding logs and batch documentation
Identify and report any contamination risks or deviations immediately
Maintain Cleanroom Standards
Support environmental monitoring and cleaning protocols
Maintain equipment, inventory levels, and sterile supplies
Always ensure cleanroom integrity and readiness
Support Operations & Team Efficiency
Collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to meet production goals
Assist with inventory control and workflow coordination
Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or equivalent required)
Experience in sterile compounding (preferred)
Strong understanding of aseptic technique and cleanroom practices
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to follow strict procedures in a regulated environment
Team-oriented with strong accountability
Qualifications
High School Diploma required (bachelor’s preferred)
Minimum 1 year of sterile or non-sterile compounding experience
Completion (or ability to complete) aseptic technique validation
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods in a cleanroom environment
Ability to wear PPE including gowns, gloves, and masks for prolonged periods
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision
