Business Support Manager

The Business Support Manager serves as a collaborative partner who works alongside department managers and teams to support process improvements, strengthen coordination, and help ensure initiatives are implemented successfully.

This role is designed to support and assist teams, not replace departmental leadership. The position focuses on helping departments translate operational insight, regulatory expectations, and improvement opportunities into practical, sustainable solutions.

Position Summary

The Business Support Manager partners with leaders across the organization to support business improvement initiatives, enhance workflow coordination, and assist departments in implementing systems that improve efficiency, consistency, and regulatory readiness.

This role works collaboratively with department managers to understand workflows, identify areas where additional support may be helpful, and assist teams in moving improvement initiatives forward.

The position focuses on facilitating progress, providing support, and helping teams succeed, rather than directing or supervising other managers.

Key Responsibilities

Business Support & Initiative Assistance

Provide support to operational teams as they work to implement initiatives designed to strengthen performance, efficiency, and compliance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting departments in translating leadership priorities into practical implementation plans

  • Supporting teams as they work to implement process improvements

  • Helping identify obstacles that may slow progress and assisting in finding practical solutions

  • Monitoring initiative progress and helping ensure projects remain on track

  • Supporting teams in sustaining improvements once initiatives are implemented

Cross Department Collaboration

Work collaboratively with professionals across the organization to strengthen communication, coordination, and alignment.

This role regularly partners with:

  • Pharmacists and pharmacy leadership

  • Pharmacy technicians and compounding teams

  • Prescription processing teams

  • Customer care and patient support teams

  • Fulfillment and logistics teams

  • Inventory and purchasing personnel

  • Facilities and operational support teams

  • Business and administrative leadership

Success in this role depends on building strong working relationships and supporting departments in achieving their operational goals.

Process & Workflow Support

Work alongside department managers to better understand existing workflows and identify opportunities where processes can be strengthened.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying areas where additional support or process improvements may be helpful

  • Assisting teams in developing practical improvement plans

  • Supporting departments as they implement workflow improvements

  • Helping ensure process improvements are sustainable and practical for daily operations

Department Support & Coordination

Provide assistance to departments as needed to strengthen coordination and consistency across the organization.

This may include:

  • Supporting operational planning discussions

  • Assisting with coordination of improvement initiatives

  • Helping ensure cross-department processes remain aligned

  • Supporting communication between teams when initiatives affect multiple departments

Experience & Background

The ideal candidate brings broad exposure within pharmacy, healthcare, or other regulated environments and understands how different departments interact within a complex organization.

Relevant experience may include exposure to areas such as:

  • Compounding pharmacy operations (503A / 503B environments preferred)

  • Purchasing and vendor coordination

  • Prescription processing systems

  • Fulfillment and logistics operations

  • Customer service workflows

  • Inventory management

  • Facilities or operational infrastructure

  • Workflow systems or data integration

This experience allows the candidate to support teams with practical insight while respecting departmental expertise.
