Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)

Role Overview

The Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) is the senior pharmacy leader responsible for driving compliance, operational excellence, and production performance across sterile and non-sterile compounding at Boothwyn Pharmacy.

This role owns regulatory accountability while building a high-performing operation that delivers safe, efficient, and scalable pharmaceutical compounding.

What You’ll Do

Lead Compliance & Regulatory Excellence

  • Serve as the designated PIC for applicable state licenses

  • Ensure compliance with USP <795>, <797>, <800>, FDA 503A, and state regulations

  • Act as primary contact for inspections, audits, and regulatory agencies

  • Maintain continuous inspection readiness

Drive Compounding Operations

  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile production, quality, and documentation

  • Ensure accuracy in formulation, labeling, and batch records

  • Manage cleanroom standards, environmental monitoring, and equipment compliance

Partner with Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead investigations (deviations, complaints, CAPAs) with QA

  • Support new product development and process optimization

  • Drive efficiency, output, and operational improvements

Build & Lead High-Performing Teams

  • Train, coach, and develop pharmacists and technicians

  • Ensure competency in aseptic technique and regulatory standards

  • Create a culture of accountability, safety, and performance

Own Production & Performance Metrics

  • Oversee batch review, documentation accuracy, and release processes

  • Align production with demand, capacity, and inventory planning

  • Delivery on KPIs related to compliance, output, and efficiency
